Accessories

Historically, firearm and toolmark microscopes have required multiple sample holders and frequent holder changes to enable sample repositioning or to accommodate various sample types.

Leeds' universal holder with platter

The Leeds' universal holder eliminates the need for multiple sample holders.

Leeds' ball pivot vise

The Leeds Universal holder has 90° vertical to horizontal positioning range. It also has a 360° rotatable chuck that can hold a item as small as .030" wire, to as large as a 10 gauge shotgun shell. This unique holder allows a shell to be gripped by its inside or outside diameter, and also can hold a shell by the extraction groove.

Lighting

Articulated support arms are used for the fluorescent lighting option. They are mounted to the X/Y stage, which allows the light to move with the stage when focused.

Ergonomics

The LCF Firearms and Toolmarks Comparison Systems are designed with a motorized table that adjusts in height as low as 26" for a standard desk chair up to 43" for adjustable stools.

The table is designed with a large work surface area and an “object roll-off" protection edge. Ergonomic comfort is achievable for investigators of almost any height by utilizing the motorized adjustable table height combined with the 5-35° tiltable binocular head.

Object roll-off protection edge

This system includes a motorized Z column with a variable speed control that is operated with a hand control that is built into the table.  The controls are used to adjust the height of the optical bodies or to focus the optical bodies.

Control Box

The system's modular design allows for ease of adding options like a dual observation, T slot tables or computer stands.
